Apple Watch it is not yet ready for prime time!!

Apple Watch
Apple on WWDC 2014 announced the much awaited Apple Watch and joined the race of the wearable market. This was one product missing from the Apple product lineup for a long time and this move by Apple kind of brings it on par with the product portfolio of the likes of Samsung, LG & Motorola. The launch of the Apple Watch came as no surprise as the tech pundits were already anticipating a smart wearable from Apple for the past 2 years.

The Apple Watch on launch created a buzz all around the globe with is Design elements, User Interface and Technology. But as time progressed and the Apple Watch Kit was released then we came to know more about how the Apple Watch would fit in the Apple ecosystem.

We also feel that Apple might have rushed into launching the Apple Watch to match the competition as one can only strap one on their wrist by Spring,2015.

What we know so far about the Apple Watch:
1. Apple watch was very tightly coupled with the iPhone, i.e. It will have to rely on the iPhone for the Internet, Phone Call, SMS, Maps, etc.

2. Apple watch as a standalone device will be no better than a traditional watch or a Nike band which could show time and fitness related data.

3. Even with a iPhone around, Apple Watch will be just like a extended display and will not have lot to do on its own.

4. Apple Watch will be a costly smart wearable.

5. If one does not have a iPhone and wants to own a Apple Watch then one must be ready to shell upwards of $1000 (Without Contract) to own a Apple Watch and a iPhone.

Verdict:
Apple, in the past have improved the shortcoming in their 1st Generation products in their incremental refresh. This makes us believe that though tech enthusiast who already own a iPhone 6 OR iPhone 6 Plus might embrace the Apple Watch right away. But for the masses, we think the Apple Watch is not yet ready for prime time!!
